Experimental Toughness and Durability Evaluation of FRC Composite Reinforced with Steel–Polyester Fiber Combination

Abstract This study investigates the influence of steel and polyester fibers on mechanical durability properties steel–polymer hybrid fiber reinforced concrete (HyFRC) toughness under indirect tensile loading conditions. Steel Polyester are used as a single type (FRC) in combination an M45 grade composite with addition fly ash silica fume supplementary cementitious material. exhibited 10% improvement compressive strength for 0.75% volume fraction maximum 14% 0.5% comparison to plain concrete. The split tension capacity was enhanced between 26 72% fiber, it 10 18% when compared reinforcement. Water sorpitivity results were improved presence fiber. Electrical resistivity decreases increase content FRC increases conductivity value 1.65–2.23 times greater than control because free movement electrons.
